Tandem | Students | Experienced | Save Time
This Accelerated Freefall or AFF skydive is a first of seven jumps of the most accepted and practiced training program that leads a first time jumper on his/her way to solo freefall. No prior Tandem jumps are required to participate in the AFF program.
Imagine yourself as the captain of a four person skydiving team. You say "ready", and your team, including two specially rated AFF Instructors and a video camera-person, jump together from 10,500 feet. During freefall, you call out the altitude and perform a few basic drills while enjoying the amazing view over Texas, with the instructors observing at your side. Meanwhile, the video flyer records it all on tape. At 5,500 feet you deploy your parachute. Under canopy you follow the jumpmasters to the target, while a ground instructor assists by radio. For the first three levels two instructors will accompany you, and on the last four levels, one instructor will accompany you.
This program is designed to take a student from his or her first jump to being signed off student status. It will teach you to be a competent skydiver. One can complete this program in as little as one week. Once you start the AFF program you must maintain currency.
If you go longer than 30 days you need to attend a refresher course and could possibly back up a level. A Tandem Skydive at Skydive Temple is not required prior to enrolling in the AFF course. You must be in satisfactory physical condition. Minimum age is 18, or 16 with a notarized parental consent form. Maximum weight limit is 230 pounds.
